We got some NEW M. Nicholson Hip Hop Fitness routines this month. A whole bunch of them. Our team of talented instructors came up with some dope stuff. I can definitely say that they are fun and will give you quite a workout. With our hip hop fitness program. We like to keep things safe and engaging. One of the ways we achieve this is by making sure to have adequate transitions.
What is a transition you ask? Well it’s something that is very important in dance and dance fitness. Transitions as it pertains to dance is the movement from one position to the next. They can really minute or big and complexed. How do you switch from the Nae Nae to the Whip (if you have no idea what there are , these social dance moves that require minimal movement) smoothly? You do that with a transition.
Have you been to a dance class or program where you or your friends acquired various injuries or sprains? Part of the reason that happens is that the instructor is not good at coming up with combinations with smooth transitions. You might ask yourself. Is this even possible? Yes, it is! I’ve seen it and see all the time. So much so that I cringe every time I see a class do it. This is when the instructor is forcing a combination to go together in the same way you would try to put a round peg through a square hole.
So if you are feeling uncomfortable with a dance fitness combo. Make sure to alert the instructor. In order to keep yourself and your fellow classmates safe.
