In a time where cell phones and iPads occupy kids time nowadays. It’s more important than ever to get them to understand how health and fitness plays an integral part in their lives. I remember growing up we didn’t have all these distractions from physical activity. As a matter of fact our parents made us go outside and play. They made us eat all our vegetables. We didn’t know it then but at that time they were giving us the tools to evade preventable illnesses. This is where we come in.

M. Nicholson Hip Hop Fitness goes into the schools to educate on how dance can be a awesome form of fitness. We demonstrate this not only to the children but to the teachers and staff as well. Our classes st the schools have inspired a few to intergrate dance fitness into their school’s curriculum. Something that some of do on a regular basis without even knowing at times can have a impactful effect on our bodies. I just want you to think about what actually happens when you dance. Take a few moments to do so.

When you dance. You move your body to some type of rhythm. This takes the various parts of your body to manuever to allow for you to move to the. The muscles, joints, ligaments, tendons etc must all collaborate to make this thing called dance happen. This collaboration doesn’t happen on its own. It occurs via commands your brain sends out to the body. Thus leading us to believe that dance affects us mentally as well. Think about it. No one ever does a sad dance. They do a happy dance.
